Barcos Caribe was a Mexican ferry operator that connected the popular diving island of Cozumel with Playa del Carmen on Mexico's eastern coast. Established by a group of investors from Cozumel, the company aimed to provide a more personalized experience for travelers. Its fleet comprised modern, fast catamarans offering amenities such as tinted windows, comfortable seating, air conditioning, and outdoor areas with scenic views of the Caribbean. However, in February 2018, one of its ferries experienced an explosion, leading to the suspension of its operations.
